No Monthly Fee Medical Alert System
I bought this for my husband's (stubborn) 92 year old grandmother. She had life alert for awhile after hip surgery, but would never think to use it because all the sirens show up and then all the neighbors wonder what's going on. So when I saw this, I thought it would be perfect. You program 4 numbers, which it calls first then has the option of calling 911. I have that option turned off. However, I was multitasking while setting this up and did call 911. Luckily the operator was very understanding and verified all address info "just in case" they were called for a real emergency. So, total setup time was about 45 minutes, if I would have really understood the directions probably less. There is a quick set up guide, however, that doesn't go through the process of programming or anything so you have to actually read the directions. I usually like to skip directions and figure it out, but you can't with this. Read it and do it right, or you will be talking to 911.
The part that the person carries is the size of an old flip phone. A little bulky but grandma didn't seem to mind the size at all. Mostly because she saw that she could press the button and then talk to someone right from the little thing. It comes with a lanyard, belt clip, and "wristwatch" type holder so there are plenty of option on how to wear it. She likes the lanyard so far.
Overall I'm very happy with this. Can't beat a one time hour or less setup and monthly fees.
It is very diffficult to come to terms with the illness or injury of someone you love. There is so little you can do but support the person and show that you love them and are there for them. A very close family member suffered two strokes recently. She is under the age of thirty and this was both devastating and heartbreaking for the family. After the stroke, as she slowly recovered, she often expressed anxiety about having another stroke in bed at night and not being able to call out for help. It quite simply broke my heart. When I found this Medical Alert System from seller Life Link Response, I thought it was the perfect answer to heal ease anxiety about not being able to get help in the middle of the night. This item has no monthly fees, and it will auto dial 911 in emergencies. It comes with a 2 way voice pendent with a help button that can also be worn on the wrist, as a belt, or even just placed on the bedside table.
The pendant is powered by a lithium-ion battery that lasts up to 6 months on a single charge which is quite impressive. This item provides peace of mind to those who desperately need it. If you have a loved one who worries, or someone that you worry about, this is the perfect way to show that you care when there is nothing else that you can say or do. I hope this review helps to better inform your purchasing decision. Thanks for reading and may you never need such a device.
I am wowed that they finally came out with an easy to operate alert system that doesn't involve monthly fees! It's possible to set it to call up to 4 people before it calls 911 for you, or it will call both your people and 911, or it will call only 911, however you want to set it. I know a county set up will call only 911 for you, and my mother's which alerts a company will also alert family you want, but costs $30/month. Well that sure adds up! The quality of production is evident when you handle it. The pendant can hang or clip, whichever you prefer. The box hooks into your phone line, between the jack and the phone. Easy to follow instructions for set up and operation. Buy once and done, the protection is yours as long as you have a landline phone. Impressive and well functioning system. I received this item at a reduced price in exchange for my honest review of it.
This thing is a total lifesaver for me and my elderly dad. My dad comes to stay with me a lot and whenever I leave to go to the store or anywhere I worry about him. He is 78 yrs old and don't move around like he used to. This system is awesome and is very easy to install. You plug you landline phone into it, program a few numbers and voila it's done. It calls fire/ems/relatives whenever you need them. After a few tries to the programmed numbers with no response it calls the fire/ems for you.
This has been a wonderful tool so far. I bought it for my Mother in law to use since she is home most of the day by herself and is not in good health. We can't always be there, but a phone call away is better than nothing. This needs a land line to be plugged into, but you don't have to program it to call a land line. We programmed each of our numbers in it along with her husband and 911. We tried it many times inside and outside and each time it worked like a charm. She pushed the button (she chose to wear the lanyard) and the unit started the calls. The button is easy to push, but not to the point where if you would bump into something it would dial a number. We switched it to the wristband once, but my Mom thought it was too bulky for her little skinny arm.
My stress level has gone down not having to worry as much and she said she feels more empowered now which is a great thing. The feeling of security and that someone is just a call away is something we should all have. I'm so glad to have found this unit for her...and us!
